The Government of Ukraine have supported the proposal of the Ministry of Infrastructure to reduce harbor dues and charges, in particular ship, canal, lighthouse, sanitary, anchor, berthing and administrative ones by 20% starting from January 1, 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The relevant Government Directive was agreed on the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which took place on January 11, 2018. Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine thanked to the Government of Ukraine for the support of infrastructure reforms and emphasized that this decision will contribute increasing of competition of Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea region: \u201cWe promised \u2013 and we did it. I am grateful to the Government of Ukraine for the support of such an important initiative. We are expecting for a complex effect from the introduction of such decision: cheaper logistics, increasing volumes of cargo transshipment by Ukrainian ports, increasing of competitiveness, and as a result \u2013 fully inclusion of Ukraine into international transport corridors, development of the New Silk Road\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
